Vitamin C: Functions And Food Sources

Vitamin C ( ascorbic acid) is a water soluble vitamin. Unlike most mammals, humans are not able to make their own vitamin C, so we have to get it from what we eat (strawberries, oranges and clementines, papayas, kiwi fruits, broccoli, guavas, red and green hot chili peppers...). Vitamin C is very important for the adrenal glands because they are the organs with the highest concentration of vitamin C in the body. It’s also needed in the production of collagen, an essential ingredient in the skin, gums, teeth, tendons, blood vessels, bone and ligaments.
